Meet Lucila Perini, the talented illustrator behind our enchanting puzzle "Water Lily Girls." Her delicate, dreamy artwork beautifully captures the serene magic of figures surrounded by blooming water lilies, creating a meditative experience that draws us deeper into peaceful moments. We caught up with her and chatted about her favorite rules to break, where she draws inspiration, and who she'd invite to her dream dinner party.
What’s one thing we should know about you?
I'm obsessed with color and I usually dream up new combinations every week.
What puts you in the mood to create?
Observe the beauty of everyday life, investigate the processes of other artists.
What’s your favorite rule or rule to break?
Perspective! I hate that drawing rule, haha!
If you had to live in another place it would be…
Probably Rio de Janeiro! The beach, nature, the city, and the music. It's perfect.
Ideal dinner venue or menu?
A nice barbecue in the sun with friends, an Argentine tradition that I couldn't give up.
Who’s joining?
Long-time friends, friends of friends. I love having people over and meeting new people.
A few books for the coffee table?
I currently have the one from Tracy Emin's latest exhibition that I went to in Florence (incredible!) and another great book by the Argentine painter Gorriarena.
What's the last thing you listened to?
I was listening to a lot of jazz, the perfect mood for working in the studio.
First thing you’d grab in a fire?
My cat Dylan! ❤️
What were you most grateful for when you woke up this morning?
Being surrounded by love and having the privilege of leading an artistic life.
