Sundays With is a monthly series that will highlight the routines, habits, and rituals of folks in the Ordinary Habit community. We’ll be exploring what helps them close out their week, and get ready for what’s ahead.

For our first installment, we’re joined by Ashley Streicher. One of the most sought-after hair stylists in the industry, and 1/3 of STRIIIKE, a sister owned beauty studio based in Los Angeles. We’re longtime fans of Ashley’s work, and when we found out she was a fellow puzzler, we knew we had to reach out and say hi.

Being with my family. My partner is always off work on Sundays and half of the time we get his twin children who are almost 9 years old and so fun to be with!

How has your notion of Sunday changed over time?

Sundays have become very special in my world over the last year especially. I recently bought a house with my partner, and before, Sundays were usually work days for me as many award shows, etc. fall on a Sunday. NOW, Sundays are the time that I get to spend with my family. Every week I can always count on Sunday being time together!

Is there a ritual you find yourself doing each week on Sunday?

Sunday is the day we water all our house plants - and we have a TON!

What do you most look forward to on Sundays?

Sunday is the day that we already feel quite rested (from Saturday) and mellow but end up getting so much done around the house. It's usually the day we spend at home, either making food, cleaning, gardening or a house project. It's nice to have that consistency of knowing you'll be home and feeling rested and accomplished week after week.
