A Thanksgiving Cocktail from our friends at Esme - Ordinary Habit

If there was an Ordinary Habit restaurant headquarters, it would be Esme, in Brooklyn. Dear friends, and ever supplying our french fry and cocktail cravings, they’ve fueled many brainstorm sessions ever since we started. We hope you enjoy this cocktail as much as we do, and if you’re ever in Brooklyn, make sure to stop by!

On the menu since day one, the Zelda Fitzgerald is a riff on a classic cocktail that combines rosemary honey and citrus with the botanicals of your favorite gin into a holiday (and year round) classic.

Zelda Fitzgerald Cocktail

Serves 1

GATHER
2 oz gin
1 oz fresh lemon juice
¾ oz rosemary honey syrup*
8 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters

CREATE
Shake the gin, lemon, and syrup with ice until well chilled. Strain over ice into a Collins glass and top with 8 generous dashes of the bitters. Garnish with a lemon wheel, fresh spring of rosemary, and get your holiday started.

*Rosemary Honey Syrup

Combine 1 cup of honey and 1 cup of water and bring until just simmering. Drop in 1 bunch of rosemary and let simmer for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat and let cool. Discard the rosemary.
